McShane Starts Construction of 198-Unit Active Adult Community in Metro Atlanta

Property News

McShane Construction Co. has started work on Covington Crossings, a 198-unit active adult community in the Atlanta suburb of Covington.

The four-story property sits on 13 acres and is scheduled for completion in February 2021.

“By the end of the year, the entire baby boomer generation will fall into the 55-plus category,” says Scott Hoppa, senior vice president of McShane’s Southeast region. “As this generation makes up nearly 40 percent of the nation’s population, demand for senior living residences is going to continue to rise, making Covington Crossings a valuable asset for the city.”

Dominium hired McShane during the permitting stage of the project, enabling the contractor to go through final design meetings and pricing before beginning construction.

The architect of record for Covington Crossings is Martin Riley Associates.
