Dominium Begins Construction on Legends of Woodbury

New 216-unit affordable 55+ housing development to be built in St. Paul suburb

Dominium, announced today that it will begin construction on Legends of Woodbury, a 216-unit senior affordable housing development in Woodbury, Minn.

Dominium will begin construction of the affordable housing community in December. Legends of Woodbury will consist of two apartment buildings with a clubhouse in the center connecting them. The connecting two-story clubhouse will include a large community room and kitchen, fitness center, pub and card room, three season porch, theater, arts and crafts studio, library and a beauty salon.

Legends of Woodbury’s exterior common area amenities will include a courtyard, gazebo, patio, grilling space and more. The development will also connect to a citywide walking/bicycle trail with approximately two acres for the trail and associated green space.

“Woodbury has a growing need for affordable senior housing,” said Owen Metz, vice president and project partner. “Legends of Woodbury will provide high quality, affordable apartments to seniors who want to stay in this sought-after community.”

Financial partners for the project include: City of Woodbury HRA; Washington County CDA; and US Bank and Barings. Third party professionals assisting with the project include: BKV as the architect; Eagle Building Company as the general contractor; Loucks for surveying and engineering; Integra Realty Resources for Appraisal; Braun Intertec Corporation for environmental relations; Northern Technologies for Geotech engineering; Novogradac & Company for market studies; and Woodbury Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens and City of Woodbury staff.

Construction is expected to be completed in May 2019.
