Dominium Announces Land Acquisition for Development of High-quality, Affordable Homes in Buckeye, Arizona
Sidney Village marks Dominium’s first new construction development adds 200 affordable homes to the Buckeye community
Dominium, a leading national affordable housing owner, developer and manager, announced that it has acquired land at 1485 S. Apache Rd in Buckeye, Arizona, for the development of Sidney Village. This new community will provide 200 affordable townhome-style homes, all income- and rent-restricted to households earning at or below the Buckeye Area Median Income (AMI).
Once completed, Sidney Village will feature 100 three-bedroom and 100 four-bedroom homes designed as a mix of one- and two-story detached, duplex-style residences. The community will be constructed by WD Construction and will include high-quality amenities such as a clubhouse with various workspaces, a fitness center, a pool with a sundeck, a central laundry facility, solar carports, electric vehicle charging stations and a private school bus shelter.
Construction of Sidney Village will be supported by the Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program (LIHTC). Nationwide, LIHTC is the largest source of support for the construction and maintenance of affordable housing communities. In exchange for tax credits, affordable housing developers and operators agree to maintain rents at levels tied to the AMI.
Dominium would like to thank its development partners including Winthrop & Weinstine, Barclays, PNC, Colliers Securities, Arizona Department of Housing, Arizona Industrial Development Authority, Kutak Rock, Commercial Partners Title, Todd & Associates, Atwell and RVi Planning.
