Minnesota developer adds Houston property to its affordable housing portfolio

Dominium, announced today that it has acquired Quail Chase Apartments, a 248-unit community in Houston, Texas. The re-syndication closing is set for early 2018.

Quail Chase Apartments is an affordable housing complex near Villa Springs Apartments, and builds upon Dominium’s Houston portfolio.

Dominium is planning a renovation of the property, which will commence in early 2018. Unit improvements will include upgrades to kitchen cabinet fronts and drawers, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, and appliances as needed. There will be substantial interior renovations to the clubhouse and common areas, as well as a new pavilion with outdoor seating and grilling stations, new mailbox area, new playground, splash pad and an artificial turf sports field.

The exterior will undergo improvements as well, including a variety of functional and aesthetic upgrades and replacements. The exterior will also be cleaned and the site will receive significant landscaping improvements for a fresh, updated look.

“The Quail Chase Apartments complex is in a busy neighborhood with a growing need for multifamily housing,” said Dominium development associate, Pete Nelson. “It is near another property Dominium owns and we believe that through our planned renovations, Quail Chase Apartments will provide residents a nicely renovated unit in a desirable location with amenities that are unmatched in this rental market.”

Quail Chase Apartments was built in 2000. Dominium acquired the property in late September
