New community will strengthen affordable housing options across the Phoenix metro area

Dominium, a leading national affordable housing owner, developer and manager, announced today that it has closed on the acquisition of land for the development of a new affordable housing community in Goodyear, Arizona.

Dominium plans to use the land located at 15235 West Lower Buckeye Parkway to construct Vivir at Ballpark Village. Once completed, the community will bring 400 high-quality homes to the City of Goodyear and the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Constructed by WD Construction, a joint venture between Dominium and Weis Builders, Vivir at Ballpark Village will offer residents desirable amenities, including a clubhouse, fitness center, pool, playground and outdoor amenity spaces.

Construction of Vivir at Ballpark Village will be supported by the Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. Nationwide, LIHTC is the largest source of support for the construction and preservation of affordable housing. In exchange for tax credits, affordable housing developers agree to maintain rents at levels tied to the Area Median Income (AMI). LIHTC-supported developments also have a positive impact on local housing markets by increasing the overall housing supply.

Dominium would like to thank its development partners, including Freddie Mac, Capital One, Barclays, Fundamental Advisors, Colliers Securities, RBC, the Arizona Department of Housing, the Arizona Industrial Development Authority, Winthrop & Weinstine, Todd & Associates, EPS Group, Commercial Partners Title, Kutak Rock, U.S. Bank and Burch & Cracchiolo.
