Dominium Expands Georgia Portfolio with New Affordable Senior Community

Minneapolis developer holding groundbreaking celebration for Covington Crossings on December 16

Dominium, a Minneapolis-based leading apartment owner, developer and manager, announced today that it will host a groundbreaking celebration for its new construction senior affordable housing development in Covington, Georgia on Dec. 16. Covington Crossings will be Dominium’s first new construction project in Georgia. Construction is expected to be completed in February of 2021.

Covington Crossings will provide 198 units of affordable, senior housing to Covington. The one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes will be restricted to seniors age 55+ earning no more than 60% of the area median income.

The property was designed with seniors in mind. Amenities include a clubroom, card and craft room, library, fitness center, movie theater, outdoor patio and grilling area, beauty salon and easily-accessible surface lot parking.

“We believe that it is important to create affordable housing for seniors who want to stay in their communities,” said Nick Andersen, Vice President and Project Partner at Dominium. “We are excited about our first ever new construction project in the state of Georgia and are happy to fill the needs of these seniors.”

Covington Crossings is located across the street from the Newton County Senior Center, and near numerous entertainment, shopping and dining options.
