Dominium began construction on Timbers at Hickory Tree, a 216-unit, affordable housing complex situated in the eastern Dallas suburb of Balch Springs, TX. The $53 million development is anticipated for completion by spring 2021. Berkadia, TCF Bank, Dougherty Funding, Alliant Capital and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs are funding the project.

Situated at 3401 Hickory Creek Rd., Timbers at Hickory Tree represents the Minneapolis-based Dominium’s second ground-up construction project in Texas. Upon completion, the complex will offer one, two, and three-bedroom units, along with a fitness center, mail and packaging receiving area, outdoor swimming pool, outdoor playground areas and a community room with fireplace.

“Timbers at Hickory Tree will provide much needed affordable housing in the ever-expanding Dallas-Fort Worth market,” said Dominium’s Jeff Spicer. “Rapidly growing communities are always in need of affordable housing and we are excited to be creating a new and affordable community there.”
