Dominium Senior Vice President of Capital Markets T.J. McElroy Becomes a Partner in the Company
Four-year company veteran to continue his leadership and innovation in the capital markets business
Dominium, a leading affordable housing developer, owner and manager, announced today that Senior Vice President of Capital Markets T.J. McElroy has been elevated to Partner status in the company.
As Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, McElroy leads Dominium’s strategy for managing and expanding its debt and equity relationships. He is responsible for securing efficient, innovative financing solutions across the company’s portfolio, including Dominium's transition to a programmatic portfolio financing model, negotiating deal terms, closing individual project financings, and coordinating interim funding through Dominium’s internal Polaris Capital group. McElroy also oversees the company’s investment sales efforts.
In addition, McElroy spearheaded the formation of a new business platform, Dominium Fund Management (DFM). This innovative new fund was created to manage and grow Dominium’s investments in tax-exempt multifamily housing securities and related affordable housing credit assets.
“Through TJ’s leadership, DFM has already closed two deals: a first-of-its-kind re-securitization of subordinate Freddie Mac ML Certificates, as well as a private investment fund,” said Mark Moorhouse, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer at Dominium. “I am pleased to congratulate T.J. on this important accomplishment of becoming a Partner and look forward to his continued leadership and innovation in the capital markets space.”
McElroy began his career as a Dominium intern in 2012 and became a full-time Associate in 2013. After spending seven years with Castlelake, a global private investment firm, McElroy re-joined Dominium in 2021 as Vice President of Capital Markets. Since that time, he has focused on developing and overseeing an institutional framework for the company’s new and existing debt and equity relationships.
McElroy holds a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate from the University of St. Thomas, Opus College of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Real Estate from St. Cloud State University.
