Here's a Look at the Newest Apartment Buildings Coming to St. Cloud

The Bluffs at Liberty Glen is a 180-unit affordable-housing community slated to open in March 2020 in southeast St. Cloud. Dominium, a Plymouth-based apartment developer, owner and manager, started construction on the Bluffs in October.

The pet-friendly community will be made up of a four-story, 144-unit apartment building and six six-unit townhome structures. Amenities will include in-unit laundry, heated underground parking, an outdoor swimming pool, picnic and grilling stations, and a fire pit. Two playgrounds targeted to different age groups, a large play field and a dog park are planned for the site.

Because the development is in Sherburne County — which follows income and rent restrictions in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, as opposed to lower income restrictions in Stearns and Benton counties — the Bluffs will create affordable housing options for slightly higher, middle-class earners, according to Ryan Williams, a development associate with Dominium.

"This project is a bit of an oddity in the affordable housing world in a sense that our rents are a little higher than you might expect in that market," Williams said.
