Dominium first expressed interest in the property in summer 2014, said Ron Mehl, a senior developer with the company. "The property was in default and owned by Wells Fargo at the time," he said. The company closed on the land sale in March and demolished the Gateway Mall that same month. Dominium representatives expect construction to take about 15 months.
