The city of Oshkosh is on the western shore of Lake Winnebago and banked by the Fox River and Lake Butte des Morts. Since 1836 when the first settlers established homes, Oshkosh has been a thriving city. Oshkosh is known first for its lumber mills and most recently for its manufacturing firms, shopping centers, variety of recreational activities and award-winning educational systems.

The Oshkosh-Neenah metropolitan area has been ranked by Morgan Quitno as the fifth safest in the nation. It has been said that Oshkosh is opportunity in the making. Oshkosh and the surrounding area boast a population of 85,000 people and an abundance of sites and sounds for residents and visitors to discover and enjoy.

For an educational and fun adventure, stop by the public library or the public museum. The museum has a variety of exhibits ranging from topics like art, the Titanic, Veteran’s History, Pirates and much more. Getting around Oshkosh is easy if you don’t want to do all the driving. The Oshkosh transit system is easy to use and very reasonably priced.
