Pleasant Hill is a community located east of Des Moines, Iowa. The city is situated at the intersection of Iowa 163 and US Highway 65, part of the Des Moines Metropolitan Area’s freeway system. Pleasant Hill is a community that prides itself on its quality of life and services.
The city of Pleasant Hill is seen as a Mecca - away from congestion yet conveniently located near the heart of the Des Moines Metropolitan Area. Along with the entire metro area, Pleasant Hill has experienced rapid growth over the last ten years.
Living in Pleasant Hill, you are only ten minutes from downtown Des Moines and the Iowa State Capitol and fifteen minutes from the Des Moines International Airport. The city of Pleasant Hill provides an anchor for entertainment on the east side of Des Moines, with a multiplex movie theater and Whitewater University, a feature water theme park.
We are the hub of the 4-Mile Creek Greenway Trail providing access into Des Moines and the City of Altoona. There are 6 parks and 3 miles of recreational trails located in the city.
There are many great places to visit in and around Pleasant Hill. Stop by the Visit the Des Moines Art Center, the Living History Farms, the educational Science Center of Iowa and the interesting National Balloon Museum.
If shopping is something you enjoy, living at the Cottage of Pleasant Hill, you are within 15 minutes from Southridge Mall. We are also within 10 minutes from a variety of stores and restaurants like Super Wal-Mart and Target.
If you enjoy a nice stroll, you can walk to banks, grocery stores, beauty shops, a movie theater, restaurants and more. You might want to drive to the car wash, but that is also only a few minutes away also.
