Brook Lane Apartments is located in historical Brown Deer Village. The Original Village, located south of Brown Deer Road on Deerwood Drive, also contains several existing restaurants and businesses.

Industrialization came to Brown Deer when Badger Meter Manufacturing Company moved into the area in 1951. The move to incorporate Brown Deer into a village was begun in September, 1953. After several attempts, the people of Brown Deer voted overwhelmingly in favor of incorporation, thus creating the Village of Brown Deer and making it a municipal corporation on January 20, 1955.

Then began the epidemic of annexations and counter moves by Brown Deer and Milwaukee. Brown Deer was reduced to its present 4.5 square miles.

Deer Pond, Village Park, and Fairy Chasm Park are just a few of the areas for outdoor recreation. The Village of Brown Deer Park and Recreation Department offers several activities year round for those of all ages.

We are conveniently located within minutes of several restaurants and shopping areas, as well as the library.

The Brown Deer School District serving our community includes:

Dean Elementary School is located on N. 55th Street. Serving kindergarten through 4th grade.
Brown Deer Middle School is located on N. 60th Street. Serving 5th through 8th grades.
Brown Deer High School is located on N. 60th Street. There are up to 700 students on the roll in grades 9-12. The school's sports teams are known as The Falcons.
